Actually I reckon the music for Transformers the animated movie (ie. pinnacle of human endeavour) was influenced by van halen
just saw MF DOOM in the temple bar music centre btw. it was so-so actually! DOOM was good but everything else was a disaster! there were people literally calling to "trash the place" afterwards, though little or no actual trashing occurred.
